Who we are

Our history and vision for the future.

The vision for Christlike Reformed Baptist Church came from home Bible study groups, from which a congregation was assembled.

We are a growing church, started in 2017, and we have planted another church in Mzuzu.

Our vision for the future is to grow as a body, train deacons and elders, continue to plant biblically sound churches in areas prioritized according to need, and start a seminary to train pastors and church leaders in sound theology according to the historic Reformed faith.

What makes us distinct

A firm emphasis on the Word of God as the first and final authority in matters of faith, life, and truth; fellowship that aims to demonstrate the love of Christ to all members, guests, and to our community; teachers and leaders committed to fulfilling Christ's commands in Matthew 28:19-20 through evangelism and discipleship.

Statement of faith

We are a confessional, Reformed Baptist congregation, holding to Scripture as our source of truth and seeking to glorify God as our greatest purpose.

What we believe

Scripture: We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are God-breathed, bearing His full authority and being without error or falsehood, and that they are unable to lead us astray if we approach them as humble students seeking to understand them as God intended them to be understood.
God: We believe in one God, subsisting of three persons- the God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, being of one essence, one nature, one will, and all one eternal God.
Christ and the Gospel: We believe that all are born into sin after Adam and Eve sinned and deserve God's punishment because of both that birth into sin and because of our own sins. We believe that salvation is through by grace alone (which is a gift from God, not a work of man), through faith alone (we add no works to our salvation, neither can our sin take it away for even a moment), in Christ alone (there is no other path to salvation.
Church and discipleship: We believe that local churches and the global Church (the spiritual body of Christ) are God's instruments for evangelism and discipleship, which He established through Jesus in accordance with the Scriptures, to do His work to the ends of the earth.
Mission: We believe that the mission of God is the mission of the Church- the go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that He has commanded. This mission becomes the mission and duty of every Christian and will not be completed until the last of God's elect children are brought to faith by His work of regeneration in their heart.
Confessional We believe that the Scriptures are the first, highest, and final authority in faith, life, and truth, and that no document may ever take their place or stand in authority over them. We acknowledge some creeds, confessions, and catechisms as helpful tools for understanding God's Word and use them in our teaching and lives accordingly.
